Reds make concerning Hunter Greene injury announcement after he leaves in middle of start image

Hunter Greene has developed into one of the best pitchers in baseball.

But the Cincinnati Reds may not have him available for a little while after an injury.

Greene lasted three innings Wednesday night, not allowing a run.

But then the Reds visited him on the mound, and he walked off injured.

Cincinnati announced he departed with a right groin injury.

It's not something the Reds need at all at this point.

The 25-year old has been a superstar so far this season.

Greene has a 2.53 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 42.2 innings.

Last season, Greene had a 2.75 ERA with 169 strikeouts in 150.1 innings.

He throws as hard as any starting pitcher in baseball history.

The former two-way prospect focused on pitching early in his minor league career and has blossomed into a brilliant ace for Cincinnati.

A groin injury could be tricky for a pitcher, especially one who throws as hard as Greene.

Reds fans will hold their breath and hope for the best.
