The Houston Texans have gone through several changes this offseason, specifically on offense. They traded away left tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Stefon Diggs signed with the New England Patriots in free agency.
Despite these changes, one Texans writer believes they can not only win the AFC South, but earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs. Mike Bullock of Battle Red Blog predicts that the Texans will go 12-5 and stay out of the Wild Card round.
"12-5 is totally doable and should land the Texans in the playoffs as the AFC South Champions," Bullock writes. "Granted, they won’t likely sweep all 3 division opponents, but let’s face it the Baby Horses, BESFs and Glitter Kitties aren’t any real threat to do much in 2025. This should also keep the Texans out of the Wild Card Round, which would be huge. Hosting a playoff game in H-Town in the same season they host a MNF game would do wonders for fan support. And seeing C.J. Stroud and the boys show the world they’re for real on multiple occasions will be awesome."
While the Texans will be the favorites to win the AFC South, earning the No. 1 seed would be a huge surprise, nevertheless with just 12 wins.
