The Florida Gators are the defending national champions, and typically, after winning a title, the transfer portal becomes your best friend. That’s certainly been the case for Florida, as they’ve added some key pieces—most notably Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee. Now, the Gators are making a strong push for another talented guard: Arkansas commit Boogie Fland.
Fland initially entered the NBA Draft process but quickly decided to return to the college level and explore the transfer portal. While most players don't withdraw from the portal as swiftly as he did, it seems likely that either he—or his agent, Mike Miller—had already charted a path forward.
“Miller represents Fland and must have heard enough feedback from NBA scouts to realize the writing was on the wall: Fland would be better off making another year of NIL money than testing his salt in the NBA,” Nick Roush wrote.
Meanwhile, Florida was reportedly ready and waiting with a massive NIL offer.
“If the star point guard decides to return to college, Florida may already have sunk their claws into him. And the price tag, according to Bo Mattingly of The Chuck & Bo Show, could top out at around $7 million,” Austin Farmer wrote.
Adding to the intrigue, Fland’s agent has ties to the Gators program.

“Mike Miller went to Florida. Mike Miller reps Boogie Fland. Florida needs guard. Just sayin’,” Jeff Goodman posted.
On Sunday, reports surfaced that Fland has scheduled a visit with Florida, strongly indicating his interest in joining the Gators.
“Florida coach Todd Golden and his staff will host Arkansas transfer Boogie Fland tomorrow and Tuesday. Gators are the clear favorites to land the scoring guard,” Goodman wrote.
A backcourt duo of Fland and Lee would be a force in the SEC. And if Alex Condon returns, Florida's new starting five could arguably surpass last season’s championship lineup. Barring an unexpected turn, it looks like Fland is Gainesville-bound.
