The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached back-to-back Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history, and two of the most recognizable faces in the Twin Cites were on hand to celebrate that feat on Wednesday night.

Quarterback J.J. McCarthy and wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings were mic’d up courtside at the Target Center for the Timberwolves’ 121-110 close-out win over the Golden State Warriors.

From a pregame greeting with Steph Curry, to some genuine reactions and unscripted conversations, the clips from the game circulating around social media are ones every Minnesota sports fan will want to see.

Curry apparently not recognizing McCarthy (at least not at first) is kind of an all-timer. The 22-year-old McCarthy didn’t seem bothered by it, turning to Jefferson afterward and marveling: “Greatest of all time.”

The guys pumping up Julius Randle pregame and encouraging Naz Reid on his way to the scorer’s table is peak Minnesota sports aura.

The Timberwolves once again stand four wins away from reaching their first NBA Finals, and with a stacked roster in all three phases, the Vikings could soon be on deck.
