Terry McLaurin is heading into the final season of his contract with the Washington Commanders, and that could soon create some drama.
It may have started on Wednesday, when McLaurin was absent from the Commanders' offseason activities after previously having been in attendance.
It's not clear yet whether McLaurin's absence was contract-related.
McLaurin is due to make $15.5 million this season.
Washington picked McLaurin in the 2019 third round, and he's proven himself to be a star wideout.
After 919 yards as a rookie, McLaurin has had 1,000 or more yards in all five seasons since.

McLaurin earned himself this current deal back in 2022 when he skipped the offseason program before agreeing on a $69 million contract spread over three years.
The Commanders picked up Deebo Samuel as a WR compliment to McLaurin this offseason, but that only has the desired impact if they can also keep McLaurin present and happy.
Second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels can lead Washington to great heights if he has big-time weapons around him, too, so it looks like the Commanders' next priority should be getting McLaurin signed to a new contract.
