'Returning to our heartland': Rabbitohs petition for new home ground for the 2026 NRL season image

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have made a petition to change their home ground for the 2026 NRL season.

The foundation club, who currently plays out of Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park, intends to pack up and move to Allianz Stadium in Moore park.

The club believes this move would create a better game-day experience for their members, as well as becoming more accessible to their fans concentrated in the South Sydney catchment.

The bid was initiated by Australian actor, television presenter and Rabbitohs member Luke Carroll.

His Instagram post was shortly followed by a post from the official South Sydney Rabbitohs account with a message from their CEO, Blake Solly.

It is unclear at this stage whether a successful bid from the club to change their home venue will result in different pricing options for members.

Powerbrokers at the Rabbitohs are adamant that the annual Good Friday clash against the Bulldogs will remain at Accor, even if other home games are moved to Allianz.

Moving into the ground that arch-rivals, the Sydney Roosters, have called home since 1988, will assuredly add another chapter to their book of feuds.
