The Cleveland Browns made waves when they drafted Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and then followed that up by taking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round. Cleveland did this after trading for quarterback Kenny Pickett in March and signing veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to come back to Cleveland after a one-year stint in Indianapolis.
Sanders has gotten an absurd amount of media coverage since being drafted, which would make some believe that Gabriel might be rubbed the wrong way. However, Sanders says the two have a good relationship.
“Everything’s been cool,” Sanders told SportsCasting. “He’s a cool person. I like how he handles situations, especially just the negative media that’s coming his way. I’m just happy he’s positive. He’s able to handle everything. We’re truly cool.”
Despite what many fans would have thought the two rookies seem to have a good relationship with one another. They will continue to battle for the highest possible spot on the depth chart as the offseason rolls on.
