Giannis Antetokounmpo has reportedly grown disgruntled with the Milwaukee Bucks, with speculation heating up that he could ask for a trade from the franchise that drafted him. While he has been linked to seemingly half of the teams in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors have long been mentioned as a potential landing spot.
His latest public appearance fed into the narrative that he could have interest in teaming with Stephen Curry in the Bay Area. The two-time league MVP was on hand at a Google I/O event in San Francisco, playing along to cheers from the crowd.
"Giannis shows up at #GoogleIO.!," Brian Tong tweeted Tuesday. "Just a reminder...Jimmy Butler was at the last @Google Pixel Event 👀 #DubNation"

As Tong noted, Butler was on hand at a Google Pixel event in August 2024. He was traded to the Warriors ahead of the trade deadline just six months later.
Antetokounmpo's presence at the event does not ensure that he will land in Golden State. He is, after all, sponsored by Google and very well could have been paid for the public appearance. His appearance, however, will add fuel to the rumors that he is unhappy in Milwaukee and wants out.
The nine-time All-Star has been linked to the Warriors for quite some time due to the mutual respect him and Curry have shown for one another. Antetokounmpo has spent his entire 12-year career with the Bucks.
He is set to receive his seventh consecutive top-four MVP finish after yet another dominant season in 2024-25. Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 60.1% from the field.
Milwaukee, however, was bounced from the postseason in the first round for the third consecutive year. While the superstar forward has not yet requested a trade, the entire landscape of the NBA could shift if he does.
