The Houston Texans have done a lot of revamping to their offensive line this offseason after C.J. Stroud was the second-most sacked quarterback in the NFL. However, the revamping they've done has arguably made Houston worse.
They traded star left tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders. They drafted Minnesota Aireontae Erseery, but there are no guarantees he pans out. For these reasons, Devon Platana from House of Houston says the Texans should pursue former Cleveland Browns tackle Jedrick Wills.
"Wills is looking for a fresh start, and the Texans should roll the dice on him," Platana writes. "He's only turning 26 years old over the weekend, making him young enough to carve out a lengthy NFL career. Despite his age, he's brimming with experience after playing 3,691 offensive snaps across 58 career games (57 starts). Wills isn't flawless, but he's far from the worst tackle the Texans could sign. He's played to a Pro Football Focus pass protection grade of 63.6 or better in four of his five seasons, which is better than Blake Fisher's most recent performance (46.7)."
While Wills has injury concerns, the Texans could sign him to a cheap short-term deal. It would be a low risk, high reward scenario that could see Wills rise to the occasion and earn a higher pay day or be cut without any consequence on the Texans' end.
