One final high school baseball state championship will be decided in Louisiana.
Lake Charles school Sam Houston gets set to take on Live Oak for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division I Non-Select title Saturday evening at Sulphur.
Live Oak, the No. 1 seed in the bracket, started strong by taking Game 1 on Thursday, 3-1. But on Friday, Sam Houston - the No. 11 seed - evened the series by taking a 4-3 win, forcing the deciding Game 3.

SAM HOUSTON 4, LIVE OAK 2 FINAL
POSTGAME
- Sam Houston's Owen Galley was awarded the MVP for the series. Galley had an RBI single in the seventh to give the Broncos some insurance with a two-run lead.
- Cole Flanagan was 3-for-4 with a run scored, and Charlie Donaldson was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Broncos. Freshman Kannon Kaiser was the winning pitcher in relief with two scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while striking out two.
- Sam Houston wins Game 3 of the best-of-three Division I Non-Select state championship series, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh to break a 2-all score; then getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the last of the seventh to win the title.
SEVENTH INNING
- Sam Houston brings in Coleton Donaldson to pitch, and he induces a ground ball hit right to him, and he throws to first for the final out, and for the first time since 2001, Sam Houston has won a state baseball title.
