The San Antonio Spurs seem to be set up nicely for the future. They have a bona fide superstar in Victor Wembanyama, a star point guard in De’Aaron Fox, and the most recent rookie of the year in Stephon Castle. One of the only things that could hold them back is the health of Wembanyama, a physical phenomenon like nothing we’ve ever seen. Wembanyama was shut down towards the end of the 2024-25 season with a blood clot, raising alarms around the league about his long-term health. Now, a recent report of Wembanyama working out with a 2025 Draft prospect has many optimistic about the next Wembanyama blood clot update.
The most recent Wembanyama injury update happened in mid-April when Spurs acting coach Mitch Johnson said. "He'll be ready to go by camp next year. Things are going well. I know it's not hot news, but it's good news."
This update included that Wembanyama had started lifting weights and on-court work in a controlled setting.
Now, Jeff Garcia has reported that Wembanyama was working out with Maxime Raynaud, a fellow Frenchman and current NBA draft prospect.
In pictures from the workout, Wembanyama not only looked healthy, but he looked even taller and stronger than he was before.
This all points to Wembanyama making a full recovery from his blood clot and continuing to be on the path to starting the 2025-26 season off healthy.

If Wembanyama and the rest of the Spurs can stay healthy all of next season, they could be the newest young contender in the Western Conference.
