Pope Leo XIV's MLB fandom gets shocking reverse announcement on Cubs vs. White Sox image

Hold on just a second.

Pope Leo XIV was reported almost immediately upon his naming as the pontiff to be a Chicago Cubs fan.

He's a native of Chicago, and ABC News reported that fact.

But a new interview out Thursday evening suggests otherwise.

This is the former Robert Prevost's brother, and he says the story is backward.

The pope's brother shared that their mother was a Cubs fan and that their father was a Cardinals fan.

But Prevost? He rooted for the White Sox.

That's a game-changing revelation for the ChiSox faithful.

They suffered through a 121-loss season in 2024, an MLB record.

They're only 10-27 this season.

But now, if this is the full truth, means something much more powerful.

The White Sox have the pope on their side. The turnaround must be just around the corner.
