It's no secret that the Cleveland Browns have too many quarterbacks. They brought in four signal-callers that weren't on the team a season ago, and things are getting crowded. Kenny Pickett was acquired via trade in March, Joe Flacco joined shortly after, and then the Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. While it's all but guaranteed Deshaun Watson has played his last down as a Brown, that is still far too many cooks in the kitchen.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated seems to agree, and hinted that the Browns will get rid of a quarterback before training camp.
"I have to think it's going to be hard for them to run a four-man competition in camp," Breer said on The Dan Patrick Show. "Because you have to get the rest of your team ready. Because of the rules, there's only so many opportunities you get with your first-offense out there. You've got to prepare the other 10 guys in the huddle to play football... they have to at least get a read on [who will start] over the next five weeks, six weeks in OTAs and mini-camp..."
It would make sense for the Browns to move one quarterback via trade. Whether that be one of their two draft picks or Kenny Pickett after they just traded for him, they need to trim this quarterback room down a bit.
