The Denver Broncos don't have enough at the wide receiver position ahead of the 2025 season in the eyes of some analysts and that has led to several trade predictions, including one in which they would get Jameson Williams from the Detroit Lions

But this one would be a headline-grabbing transaction across the entire league.

In a new proposal put forth by Coby Leibowitz of Athlon Sports, the Broncos package Courtland Sutton with some other players and draft picks in order to get one of the best young wide receivers in the entire league, Garrett Wilson of the New York Jets.

Here are the full trade details:

Broncos receive: WR Garrett Wilson, 6th-round pick
Jets receive: WR Courtland Sutton, OT Mike McGlinchey, DL Malcolm Roach, 1st-round pick, 3rd-round pick

"The only issue for the Broncos in this trade is that they become very thin at defensive tackle. From last season, undrafted free agent Jordan Miller moves into the backup spot, leaving a vacancy at third string. The Broncos will likely have to sign or trade for another defensive tackle, but that problem is worth having for Wilson.

Raekwon Davis, Linval Joseph, Daniel Eukale, Jordan Phillips, and Khalil Davis are inexpensive options the Broncos could bring in for depth and veteran presence. They re-signed DJ Jones in the offseason, so the starting spot is locked up; they just need more interior depth.

Denver should closely follow the Jets in training camp and at the start of next season. If the Jets start to struggle, the Broncos need to be the first to try to acquire Wilson before other teams make offers. Wilson could change the team and the franchise, and the Broncos should do whatever it takes to get their guy", wrote Leibowitz.

This would be a very bold move by both teams. The Jets, now invested in Justin Fields at quarterback, would be taking his best offensive weapon away.

Leibowitz mentions that the defensive tackle position would be thin after trading away Malcolm Roach, but a bigger concern could be breaking up the continuity along their stout offensive line by moving Mike McGlinchey. That would probably push either Matt Peart or Alex Palczewski into the starting lineup, unless an undrafted player such as Xavier Truss really surprised in training camp.

Those potential headaches could still be worth the value that Wilson would bring to the team, as he has been terrific in New York despite shaky play at the quarterback position.

After winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award following the 2022 season, Wilson has kept up a high level of play, catching 101 passes for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns last season. That was with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback and having to share targets with his guy, Davante Adams.

Wilson is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and could thrive in a system run by Sean Payton and Bo Nix. This would be a massive deal with several moving parts and factors to consider, but it would give the Broncos a chance to have a dynamic offense with a fierce defense.
